Stella is the matriarch of our kennel. My wife has formed such a special bond her, that she gives me stern words of caution whenever I take Stella out for a hunt. She has produced three great litters for us and is now retired from breeding.
Nelli is out of Stella’s “A” litter by Blackhawks Augustus McCray (Jack). She is truly a rock star with a huge personality. Everything she does, she gives every bit of effort.
Garth was our first Pudelpointer. I drove out to Boise in 2001 to pick him up and meet Bob Farris. He lived to be 15. I am thankful for the memories. I’ve rarely seen his equal in the field. I’ve seen guys leave their own “birdy” dogs and follow Garth. He had the perfect personality for our family. He raised all three of our kids and was there on all of their first hunts, first every things really. He was so devoted and loyal to me that we got so I didn’t have give him any commands. He could read me and he would Just Do It with everything he had. Man, I miss him!
I imported Yala from Germany in 2004. I had the opportunity to visit her kennel and meet her breeder, Gundolf Pohl. She turned into an Iowa pheasant tracking and retrieving fool. Many a birds would not have been recovered if she had not been on the job. She simply didn’t miss. If the bird fell, she would retrieve it. Every Single Time.
