Windy Sage Rudy Red

Red is out of Cedarwoods Miss Montana by Cedarwoods Jumping Jack. He is co-owned by Paladin Gundogs and Caliber Point Gundogs. Red is around 65 lbs. and 25” at the shoulder. He is a fast dog that and has the stamina to go with it. Red is an intelligent hunter and naturally adapts his range to ensure he is and effective team member. He has hunted the South Dakota prairie for Sharp-tails off horse back and reached out to 400 yards yet he spends most of his field time in chasing Ringnecks in thicker cover. His duck search and water drive are of the highest order. He has a dense coat that that offers good protection from the late season MN cattail sloughs. Red has an easy going way about him and he is just as comfortable in the kennel as he is in the house. He is a quiet, easy keeper in both. He is the kind of dog that not many words or commands need to be spoken, he pays attention and as soon as he figures out what is wanted, he does it.

Our Dogs

Red is truly one of the best all around dogs that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Red has the coat, the looks, the athleticism, the drive, and the temperament to make a positive contribution the Pudelpointer breed and specifically, Paladin Gundogs.

He has many of the same dogs in his pedigree as my first Pudelpointer and it shows. Cedarwoods Calendar Girl, Cedarwoods Image of Jake, and Pine Ridge Rudy. His sire is Cedarwoods Jumping Jack. Same sire as Bob Farris’ Cedarwoods Image of Tukr
Red is truly versatile.

This year (2023-2024) he hunted in 5 states. I harvested all kinds of ducks from Iowa early season to a blizzard in North Dakata. He ran 308.49 field miles producing Pheasant, Hungarian Partridge, Sharptailed Grouse, Ruffed Grouse and Bobwhite Quail. He hunted with 37 different dogs this year (mostly Pudelpointers) and covered more ground and produced more games than all of them. I know because I tracked them on GPS.

He is dream to handle and to live with. My wife calls him a “Good boy” and that is saying something.
